THE BALLAD OF CRESWICK MINE Dynamic, Historic and a True Story A year after the release of "Highway to Ride" a second Jim Hermel CD, again with all songs written by Craig Roberts, was released. The title song "The Ballad of Creswick Mine" based on the 1882 mining disaster at Creswick, Victoria, told the story of the new Australian mine which flooded, resulting in the deaths of 22 miners. Miraculously, after 3 days and nights of desparate rescue attempts by those above ground, the lives of 5 men still trapped below were saved. Also featured on this fine EP appear 2 country tracks, the lilting and memorable "Muddy Murray River" and the up-tempo "Good to be Back Home". Along with a more serious blues track " You Make Me Lose It". This CD was distributed by Mulga Music, Tamworth and "Muddy Murray River" which was released as a single recieved acclaim and extensive airplay Australia-wide and as far away as "Radio-France" and Belgium.
